Creatures All
Discarded rear view mirrors. Aluminium foil sheets. Vegetable net bags. A dried ball of dough. A spent balloon. Hair wigs. Lawn mats filled with a mess of such and more. Women and girls, from entirely different backgrounds, but all artists for those few hours, wandered about picking and choosing.
And shedding. Identities. A sense of their Pretty. Self consciousness. Resting faces. Non resting faces. Niceness. Good Girl-ness. Woman-ness.
As props became body parts, they transformed. Under the slanting sun they arranged into strange tableaus. Creatures Only. Creatures All.
(From a documentation project for The Art Farm camps, run by Tinu Verghis and instructor Shivani Gupta's sessions).
