A Reluctant Awakening
In Avalaanchi, a village perched above the Nilgiri Hills, a farm that has been lying wild for decades, is being coaxed back to controlled produce. The fallow years would have left it fertile to the point of bursting.
It is taking its time waking up.
A kind of mystical memory still hovers and broods over the land. The people who work it can perhaps sense its mood. For they take their time cleaning out parcels at a time, working to the rhythms of the wandering mist and rain.
The first crop will be a pure bred, fed only by wild earth minerals and rainwater.
